Pacific Quest - Combining Clinical Services and Outdoor Wellness

Founded in 2004, Pacific Quest is an award-winning integrative outdoor behavioral healthcare program that combines outdoor experiences with clinical services. Based on the beautiful island of Hawaii, it is uniquely qualified to provide nature-oriented programming, including horticulture therapy, with an additional focus on nutrition and diet, exercise and sleep, and mind and body wellness. Pacific Quest received the American Horticultural Therapy Association Therapeutic Garden Design Award in 2016.

Pacific Quest works with youth and young adults between the ages of 13 and 24 and offers specific programming for adolescents and young adults. The former is for students between the ages of 13 and 17 and is based on a 25-acre farm. Students learn the basics of self-care and wellness and are prompted to take on greater responsibility in specific community roles as the program progresses. The young adult program is based at Reed Bay and involves similar programming in addition to group outings to some of Hawaii's most culturally and historically significant areas.

Both programs utilize a neurosequential approach to the treatment of internalized distress. More specifically, Pacific Quest's programming is designed to help individuals with depression or anxiety, substance abuse, relationship issues, poor social skills, identity issues, and poor self-image.
